My Menu Plan

Happy Sunday, friends.

I am so relieved to have found a moment to sit down and update this little space. As I mentioned last week, we are taking on some changes around here and the past few days have been a whirlwind of activity and to-do lists. We have listed our house – the very first home we bought – and are taking on a space that’s a little bigger, a little brighter, a little better.

As anyone who has ever sold a house to buy another one knows, the process can be daunting and stressful and riddled with what if’s and maybes and factors that are out of your control. So I have been trying to ride that wave and stay afloat with the kids, work and life at the same time. And not only has this space been neglected, but so has my menu planning and my friendships and my work outs and anything that falls outside of the box that is selling and buying a house.

But today, there were muffins (these ones to be exact, doctored up with some of my favorite add-ins…). There was a roasted chicken. Tomorrow there will be these amazing chicken burgers. And later in the week, there will be this pork tenderloin and homemade pizza.

There will probably be a few nights of take-out in there, too. There will be last-minute showings and meetings with contractors and nights where we are too burnt out – or too stressed – to cook.

But today, there was a small sense of normalcy. There was a little less stress and little less worry. There were muffins.

And they were really good.

*here is a look back at all my more detailed menu planning posts, if you need some ideas for the week ahead

**photo above of one of the best things I came across today: Sift Magazine, a beautiful periodical from the folks at King Arthur Flour. Not only is it well-done, packed with lovely photography and recipes, it felt like an original, inspired approach to marketing that I really appreciated.
