Saturday Reads
A new season. This one feels like it’s loaded with promise and change and a feeling of new. Almost moreso than the New Year, for some strange reason. Maybe it’s a sign that I desperately need all of that. Here are some of the things that piqued my interest online this week:
Jenny’s book Dinner: A Love Story played a big role in our dedication to family dinner and menu planning and I am so excited she’s coming out with a second this August. Read about it here.
10 Things Highly Intuitive People Do Differently. I’d love to be more in touch with my intuition and more importantly, find a way to listen to it more effectively.
How I Got My Start by Erika from Small Shop Studio. I have long admired Erika (you can read more about her here) for her impeccable style and grace as she navigates the ups and downs of motherhood and career and I loved this little glimpse into her background and her exciting plans for the future. So great to see someone making their dreams a reality.
Love this inside look at the Hollywood Hills home of Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent.
The 10 Most Important Minutes of a Child’s Day. I am a HUGE believer in the power of bedtime. I love to lay down with Little D at the end of the day to catch up. A lot of the time, I don’t even need to pepper her with questions, it tends to naturally be the part of her day where she opens up, shares more and rambles a little bit…to delay lights out a little longer. It’s tough on those nights when you are so burnt out as a parent and just want to switch to personal time for the night but when you can find the energy, those last ten minutes really can be magical.
And finally, I hope you had a chance to read my little piece on perspective earlier in the week. This was an important lesson for me and even though the actual event took place a few weeks ago, I held it close to my heart every day until I found the opportunity to sit down and give it justice with the right choice of words. I am so glad I finally did. I hope you enjoyed it and found something to take away from it.
Have a great weekend.
