Top-Knot Alternatives
Ladies, it may be time to take down the top-knot.
Ok, maybe not altogether.
But once in a while?
I know, we love it for its simplicity and effortless style but it’s time to consider freshening up even our most favorite go-tos, so here are some alternatives to consider:
(above)
High ponytail. Keep it messy, not slick, and give the tail part some texture with some light teasing and product.
So simple and sophisticated. Perfect for day or night.
I love it with a sharp center part like this classic look or off to the side like this.
Center braid.
You can get fancy with a fishtail or keep it basic like I do.
Either way is pretty.
Side braid.
Love this for a fresher, more feminine take on the twisted trend.
Low ponytail.
Oh so simple and oh so chic.
I love this look to add a hint of casual to an otherwise dressy ensemble.
Mid-height bun.
Not too high, not too low.
Just perfectly perched right in the middle.

ooooh that’s a toughie! 2013 was the year of the high twist into a top knot secure with an elastic hairstyle. a new fav since i had been stylin’ a high ponytail for oh, let’s see, 10+ years! i’m one of those ladies that has long hair but i don’t like it in my face, or in my way, so it’s always up.
so instead of a top knot today it’s in a high pony…at least some of it is down ๐
I hear you! But let me tell you, bringing back the cute pony was a breath of fresh air for a few days there. Change is good! ๐
oh lady. talk about a perfectly timed post. i’m so over my daily topknot but, like joi said above, i don’t like it in my face or in my way either. my go-to’s are ponies and braids โย this is a good feast for the eyes and a little inspo!
xx
In the exact same place! I need a solution but the top-knot has overstayed its welcome over here so I needed some new ideas. Glad you like! xx
