Scenes from Seattle

Seattle-WhatWouldGwynethDo

I spent the past 48 hours in Seattle for some business meetings with a new client. I have only been to the city once before, also on business, and both trips have been packed with lots of obligations and little sight-seeing. We managed to sneak in an hour at the Pike Place Market yesterday morning where we took in the grey skies, visited the original Starbucks store, opted to get coffee next door at a great little French bakery instead, bought some lovely artisanal goodies, and listened to a really good Tom Waits-esque street musician sing Christmas songs. It was chilly and gloomy but we weren’t complaining – weather like that is a nice change for us Southern California girls. And it made the twinkling Christmas lights hanging all over the city seem even more magical. Sometimes it’s the backdrop that really makes the beauty. Thanks for a fun stay, Seattle. I’ll be back.
