Making My Monday

WhatWouldGwynethDo-MakingMyMonday

What a glorious weekend. Weather was perfect, calendar was all clear, everyone was happy and healthy. I kept asking myself silently throughout the weekend “why can’t we just do THIS every day?”

I suppose, as with all great things in life, you need to balance them with the not-so-great to appreciate them even more. That’s where Monday comes in. 😉

Here are a few things (four to be precise, because this week just doesn’t have the will to deliver five, it seems) I am looking forward to in the week ahead, the things “Making My Monday:”

It’s Earth Day today and I am giving myself a pat on the back this year for all the little steps I have taken to help my family live a cleaner, greener, healthier life. Check out this fun Pinterest board for some of my favorite eco-chic finds for you and your littles.

I am heading up to San Francisco for a few days for business. I love SF. We have often contemplated making a move up there, but the weather and the cost of living holds us back. It’s always nice to be in the city and enjoy its amazing culture and food and people-watching, even if only for a day or two. Sadly, I won’t have too much time to take in Jeanne’s favorite local spots, so clearly we’ll need to plan another trip for pleasure sooner than later.

With any good business trip comes some good quiet time to read (i.e. a working mother’s equivalent of a vacation) and I’ve decided to dive into this acclaimed novel while I am on the road. Which was cheaper at Costco than on my Kindle…can we talk about how annoying that is?? Sigh.

I have been looking for a fun piece of art to hang in our entryway for ages now. It needed to have a little personality, a pop of bright color, and be roughly 11″x 17″. And I finally found it. This “Bonjour” print from etsy (shown above) is en route to us now and will be a welcome addition to our home and all our guests.

So bonjour to you, Monday. Don’t be a bitch. 😉

PS – San Diego friends, you still have until tonight to enter my $250 Splendid giveaway! Enter now and head straight to the boutique at UTC to shop their new Summer collection.

That print is fabulous! So perfect for an entryway ;0) A Thousand Splendid Suns is a fantastic book, if you haven’t read The Kite Runner yet (same author), you definitely should. Enjoy SF!

Ah, so that is the point of Mondays? Love that perspective.

I love the Bonjour print! Might get it for my home too. Will you frame it?
