Making My Monday

2013 April 8

Wow, what a weekend. It kicked off with my trip up to Beverly Hills for Gwyneth Paltrow’s book signing – MUCH more on that to come later this week – and is ending with me in party planning mode for Little D’s birthday, which we’re celebrating this week. It’s going to be a busy but fun few days days ahead, here are some of the things I am looking forward to:

My girl is turning six. Six. SIX! I have many thoughts on the subject, some happy, some kind of sad, and will find a way to put them into words to share with you. But in the meantime, we’re in party mode. We’ll be celebrating with a small family dinner on her actual birthday mid-week and then her dance party is happening on Friday night. Check out her invite above – we made mixed CDs with awesome kids dance songs and gave them out as the invite. Everyone loved it and I cannot wait to see 20+ kindergarten kids getting down on the dance floor.

My sister is coming to town to help us celebrate. I love when my sister visits. There’s just something about sisters, isn’t there? I am sure there will be plenty of laughs, squabbles and glasses of wine consumed in the days ahead.

Do you know Jennifer Perillo of In Jennie’s Kitchen? I actually didn’t start following her for her food initially, but rather when she suddenly lost her young husband in 2011 and took to social media to share her story and her journey as that of a newly single mom to two young girls. Her passion for food and home-cooking makes her even more of an inspiration and her cookbook “Homemade With Love” is now available and will definitely be on my doorstep in the next few days, thanks to Amazon Prime.

I am posting another fab Local’s Guide this week — our next stop is Denver, so get ready to plan a trip to the mountains!

Two conference calls. As of now, there are only two conference calls on my schedule for the entire week. There is a very good chance that may change, but the idea of having so much free time to just sit at my desk and WORK, is literally a professional luxury. I find we eat up so much time in today’s business world meeting and planning and planning to meet and I much prefer the days where I am wide open to simply deliver the results I am being hired for. I will let you know on Friday how many last-minute calls were added to the agenda 😉

Happy Monday ~

Thanks for sharing “In Jennie’s Kitchen” – I was not familiar but the first post I read has pulled me in.
