Making My Monday

2013 February 11

You know how you love your kids like crazy all the time but then there are those moments or days when you love them so much it hurts?

When you physically think your heart may burst out of pride and sheer joy? When you look at them and wonder where they came from, how did you get so lucky, how did the world ever exist without them?

Well I have been having a lot of those moments lately. So the only thing Making My Monday this week is them.

Little D is almost six and Kai just turned two. And as with almost any phase of parenthood (except maybe the first 12 weeks) you just think “this is the best.” I can’t imagine them getting any cuter or smarter or more amazing.

But I know they will.

For right now, though, I want to savor this moment.

The look on my daughter’s face as she literally matures before my eyes. Still half little girl, but showing signs of a little lady that is growing in there.

My son, who is growing leaps and bounds every hour it seems. His vocabulary, his imagination, his physical prowess…and I do mean prowess.

This phase, this moment, these kids. They are so full of joy and innocence and inspiration.

They make my every day.

Happy Monday, friends ~

Yup, know the feeling! Where the love is so big that it hurts to breathe, kinda. I often just want to burn the image of the moment onto my brain, so that I don’t lose it.

I’m on a conference call, on mute, and reading this. I’m in tears. Thank goodness for mute. I know this feeling all too well. When all you can do is scoop them up, protests or no, and, as my little one says when I try to leave him at night, “I don’t want to let go of you, Mama.”
