In My Makeup Bag

Who doesn’t love a peek into someone else’s makeup bag? Here’s mine. Ok, this is not EVERYTHING that’s in there, but it’s my daily essentials and very favorite finds – the things I actually use and rely on day after day.

Enjoy ~

Clockwise from top left:

Someone just told me recently how Stila is known for its eye liners and now I know why. I prefer a fairly natural look and these subtle shades amplify in a tasteful way and stay smudge-proof all day.

This light pink blush is called a “luminizer” for a reason. It gives you a soft pink glow that brightens up any complexion in a dash. And the packaging is cute. Always need good packaging.

For days when I want a warmer look, this Bobbi Brown bronzer has become my go-to. It gives you a bronzed effect without that “bronzer” effect, if you know what I mean.

Shiny skin is not a good look on anyone and sadly, it’s a problem I am plagued with. The salesgirl at Ulta recommended these blotting papers as an affordable solution and they have become a staple.

Can you tell I like a glow-y complexion? This illuminating foundation from Stila has made an appearance here before and with good reason. It has been a must-have in my makeup bag for years because it gives coverage that isn’t too heavy or too sheer with a slight shimmer that I adore.

I have tried a lot of mascaras, expensive and not, and this one is my very favorite. No clumps, lots of volume and a brush that separates each individual lash with just a swipe or two.

I am not a heavy lipstick girl. I have tried and tried, but in the end, anything not natural-ish feels Cirque du Soleil-ish on me. That’s why I am obsessed with the Fresh lip treatment in plum. It’s a sheer stain that gives more color than a simple lip balm but not enough to be called lipstick.

Speaking of lips, mine also seem to be perpetually dry. Baby Lips is my go-to these days because it’s just a nice simple moisturizer in a tube (I don’t do the little tins that you have to stick your finger in, drives me nuts) that instantly quenches my lips. I can use it on Little D too, which I love. Sometimes “double-duty” means mama and me…

What are the essentials in your makeup bag?

I don’t really wear make-up, but I love a good lip balm/stain and mascara. A few good coats of the CG Lash Blast is my go-to for nights out on the town. Glad you like it too!

In the lippy department, my faves are Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm (I love the Hibiscus, Rose, and Red Dahlia colors) and CG Lip Stains.
