We believe in keeping our weekends free around here.
I try really hard not to commit to any regular activities for my kids or myself that take place on weekends.
I promised a friend that I “might” meet her for yoga tomorrow morning. With the caveat that I might get lazy and cancel last minute instead.
I peeked at a French class for Little D but when the only availability was every Saturday at noon, I found another one.
We are in talks with my parents about a dinner on Sunday evening. But we all agreed to see how we feel on Sunday afternoon first.
We like to keep our free time free, see what comes our way, and opt out of anything that doesn’t.
It’s not always easy and it doesn’t always work, but I believe it’s really important to schedule in some time to do absolutely nothing. And to do it regularly. Our weekdays are packed to the hour and often leave us feeling so exhausted and over-stressed that by the end of the week, we need a serious break.
We all feel it, we all know it and it’s important that we actually do something about it.
So this weekend will be more of the same.
More of who knows what.
More of less.
Exactly what we believe in.
Have a great one. xx
