My Favorite Blogs – How Sweet It Is
It has been a while since I gave you a more in-depth look at my blogroll, so I thought today would be a good day to talk food blogs because I usually spend a lot of time on the weekend prepping, making and thinking about food.
Just like there are a ton of fantastic lifestyle blogs with a modern mommy twist out there (ahem, like this one!), there are a million and four great food blogs. And I look at a lot of them and Pin from even more of them (my Yum board is here and it’s worth a follow, friends).
But How Sweet It Is by Jessica Merchant is consistently my favorite. Don’t get confused by the HowSweetEats URL and handles, because the blog’s proper name is How Sweet It Is. At least from what I can figure out. And it is sweet, I promise. And savory. And simple. And stylish.
I love Jessica’s work because she has recipes for all sorts of meals and treats that are easy to follow and make, beautifully photographed, and often accompanied by cute personal anecdotes and details. She writes like a real girl in a real kitchen with real ingredients in the pantry and it turns out everything I make from her site is really delicious. She also has a section of the site called Crumbs where she shares her favorite things outside of food and gets deep once in a while with topics such as finding your passion. Which isn’t a bad thing to find when you’re looking for a recipe for really great banana muffins. And, always important in a food blog, it’s easy to search her recipes for inspiration with just a few key words and a vision in mind. And the vision usually comes to life beautifully.
Jessica will be releasing a book some time this year which I will definitely be adding to my collection, but in the meantime, you can lose yourself in her amazing blog here.
Have a happy Friday!
