Holiday Gift Guide – Beauty

2013 November 15

This morning I had my very first Starbucks holiday cup of the season and to mark the occasion, here is the very first What Would Gwyneth Do gift guide for 2013!

I know, I know…wasn’t I just talking about peace and simplicity and family being the focus this holiday season? Why yes, yes I was…but I also promised some of the fun stuff, because I think it’s all important in moderation (i.e. the feeling of getting that first Starbucks holiday cup).

I hope you find some inspiration in the coming weeks for your own shopping list(s).

First up: beauty!

Here is the thing about giving the gift of beauty during the holidays – you simply cannot deck the halls at the drugstore. If you have a beauty-product junkie in your family (like me in mine), this is the perfect time of year to splurge on those special must-haves that most of us won’t buy for ourselves. Here are my favorite beauty picks for that amazing person in your life who can use a little extra pampering this holiday:

(Clockwise from top left):

This Fresh Honey Mask is high on my wish list. It’s the ultimate luxury for tired, winter-worn skin that needs some deep therapy.

This is for the loved one who spends all winter dreaming of the beach. Bobbi Brown has bottled the scent of warm, sun-soaked days on sandy beaches in a luxurious oil, body lotion and fragrance.

I bought these Shiseido face masks for my mom a few years ago and she still talks about them. The ultimate beauty ritual for someone you want to spoil.

I love a good Maybelline lipstick (Red Revival is a favorite go-to) but sometimes it’s nice to indulge in a luxe version of a classic color and Dior lipstick in Minuit is a great choice.

Same applies to nail polish. The standard drugstore finds are fine but wouldn’t it be fun to find a gorgeous Tom Ford nail polish in your stocking, too?

Diptyque candles are a lovely choice for any one on your list and this gift set doubles the luxury.

These are on my wish list every year –  Frederic Fekkai shampoo, conditioner and glossing mist. These are the most amazing hair products and truly feel like a special treat with every use. I am also dying to try the shea line.

Another favorite that has found its way under my tree more than once: Bumble & Bumble Creme de Coco masque. This makes your hair feel so spoiled and smells heavenly.

Finally, if you follow me on Instagram (@wwgwynethdo) you saw me share my lavender oil ritual at bedtime a few days ago. This Tata Harper bedtime treatment is a step up that is sure to have you sleeping soundly. And to all a good night.
