Since it’s (what?!?) almost Memorial Day and Memorial Day signals the start to Summer (sort of??), here is a look at the essentials I have already stocked up on for the warm months ahead:
(clockwise from top left)
White jeans are my Summer staple and since I live in Southern California, they typically get some good use long after Labor Day as well. I don’t like to invest too much $$ on them because they get dirty from so much wear so these affordable Gap 1969 skinny ones are a favorite.
I love a flowing skirt when the temperature rises and this pale blush one I found at Zara a few weeks ago in New York has already become a favorite go-to.
I mentioned it earlier this week, but it’s so good, I am saying it again. essie Bikini So Teeny became my favorite warm weather polish last year. It’s fun without being too frivolous and works for manis and pedis, which get a lot of exposure this time of year.
In California we need sunscreen year-round but for those of you stocking up for the new season, nothing is easier to depend on than Peter Thomas Roth’s mineral powder SPF. It brushes on like a light finishing powder over your makeup, giving you perfect protection in a pinch.
Oh J. Crew, we can’t quit you. I can practically guarantee this panama hat is going to pop up on chic women all over the country this Summer. I may as well be one of them, no?
For the days when my other flowing skirt is in the wash (and there will be many), this long maxi from Splendid is a comfortable, stylish alternative. It helps add a little dose of style to any quick outing.
I do believe I have mentioned these awesome Madewell sandals as well. They are so simple and comfortable but offer a much-needed step up in the style department from flip flops. I have them in the tan, but clearly need the red as well.
I live in tank tops during the Summer months and these basic ones from Old Navy are my favorites. They are so affordable but last forever and they are cut LONG which I love. They come in a ton of colors, but of course, I stock up in black and grey.
My makeup routine lightens up considerably on hot days and this Stila 10-in-1 HD beauty balm has become my favorite for barely there coverage. It helps even out skin tone and small imperfections and then works as a perfect primer if you’re layering on more makeup for an evening out.
You need a solid selection of sunglasses for Summer and these Madewell hepcat shades are my favorite new addition to my collection.
Finally, a little gloss and glow is always nice for busy Summer days on the go. This Dior Addict lip glow is my pick for a subtle shine this season.
