Last-Minute Gifts for Mom (Yours)

2013 May 9

So here’s the thing – most of your husbands, boyfriends, partners are probably not logging onto WhatWouldGwynethDo on the daily (though they should obviously get on that) so doing a Mother’s Day gift guide for you or for me probably doesn’t make sense.

So here is one for your mom instead – you know, the one you will be buying for…most likely at the last minute, and most likely at your nearest department store:

A mani for mom – how can you go wrong? Spoil her with these luxe Tom Ford nail lacquers and include a gift certificate to a local nail salon for an afternoon of pampering in style.

I have bought a lot of gifts for my mom through the years and this glass teapot remains one of her favorites. It’s simple, chic and warms the soul. Fill it with the “Mother’s Little Helper” blend from David’s Tea.

Something for the home is always appropriate and I love this sea urchin serving platter from MADHOUSE Collection. Pick it up this weekend at select Bloomingdale’s or Neiman Marcus stores.

Every mom loves Ina. Her newest book “Foolproof” is a kitchen essential you can track down in a flash. Pair it with a nice cookbook stand for a delicious surprise.

Help mommy get organized with this cute cosmetic case from Tory Burch. Who doesn’t need another flamingo in their life?

These Fresh lip treatments are a must for all women — my mom loves hers just as much as I do. Grab a trio and couple it with some of their lovely hand soaps – the packaging alone is gift enough.

If your mom does not already own a Longchamp tote, then your work here is done. Every woman’s closet needs to be home to one and with so many colors and sizes to choose from, your gift-giving options are endless. Just like your love for mom.

Crap, every morning I tell myself I will go at lunch and get a gift for my mom and everyday I forget. Kind of like right now at 4p. Love the teapot and tea idea… I may go looking for something similar.. tomorrow.. at lunch. I hope.
