Two Little Words and A Whole Lot of Inspiration

She looked me squarely in the eyes with nothing but sincerity as I stood there red and flushed, stifling a cough from the remnants of a cold that wouldn’t go away, feeling defeated after yet again barely struggling through my set of thigh work (my absolute weakness).

“Great job.”

Two little words.

A whole lot of inspiration.

That is just one of the many reasons that I have stuck to my workout regime at The Dailey Method, despite a lifetime of not sticking to any workout (ever!).

I gave you a rundown of why The Dailey Method was working for me months ago and at the time, I truly hoped to stick with it, but secretly wasn’t sure if I would/could.

Well, I have.

And I wanted to let you know, because if this girl can find a form of physical exercise that she can do, that she likes, that she actually looks forward to…then that is worthy of a blog post.

Those two words of sincere encouragement I got from Samantha, one of the owners of my local studio, in class the other day is just one of the things I love about this place.

I love the results. I love that I am seeing muscle definition where I have never seen it before. I love that I feel longer and leaner. I love that my husband is complimenting me on my butt (and he has never really been a butt man…or maybe he never had reason to be, ha ha) every chance he gets.

I love that they keep the class fresh and new. Every session works abs, arms, thighs, seat, stretching, etc. but you never do the same class twice. The instructors always introduce new exercises and moves to keep even us “regulars” on our toes.

I love that it welcomes women of all shapes and sizes, all ages, even women who are about to give birth. I look around that class and see inspiration in so many forms.

I love that I go into that class for one hour and get so focused on my own strength, progress and physical ability that I block out absolutely everything else. For one whole hour.

I love that they challenge all their customers to do better. They post inspirational sayings and charts where you can track how many classes you are doing and serve wine after class every once in a while as a reward.

I love that the girls at the front desk know me, that my kids love the childcare, and that all of the instructors now know how bad I really am at thigh work…and give me a little extra love when I need it.

I love that I love to work out. For the first time ever in my life. That I mark it on my calendar like a business meeting and make it non-negotiable. That I miss it when I don’t go for a few days. That I have met some really lovely women there…cursing alongside me at the barre.

So I have two little words for Sam and Shelie and all the awesome ladies behind this awesome concept:

Great job.

If you want to try The Dailey Method your first class is complimentary and you can find a studio near you here. If there is no studio near you, they recently released their first DVD which you can order online here.

*I am doing a bloggers challenge at The Dailey Method this month to see who can fit in the most classes in one month. Wish me luck! Follow along with us via #TDMChallenge on Twitter*

I am a barre girl too. Love it for all the same reasons you mentioned! And i too hate thighs….My ass has never been better. Not a cheap workout, but honestly the most efficient exercise program I have ever done.

Love this post! I feel the same way about that place. I’m so thankful to have found them and I love having friends like you and some of the other bloggers to be familiar faces while we are moaning and groaning through the class. ; )
