Making My Monday
Well this Monday is a bit of a rude awakening, isn’t it? We had a lovely Thanksgiving break; four days of family, food and obligation-free relaxation. There were naps, trips to the park, a little Small Business Saturday shopping at one of our favorite local shops, and maybe a splash or two of wine. The week ahead is a busy one as we figure out how to balance “’tis the season” with work and the daily grind. Christmas Eve is just four short weeks away – can you believe it?! Here are a few things Making My Monday today:
I have a big new business meeting on Thursday that I am looking forward to. I never like to be optimistic about work (or most things for that matter) for fear of jinxing myself, but based on my current and pending prospects, it looks like 2013 may shape up to be a very good year for my career. Wish me luck with this one!
I am co-hosting this fun event with Splendid in LaJolla on Saturday along with one of my favorite bloggers and IRL friends, Katie from LaJolla Mom. If you’re local, hope you can stop by – non-crafters (like me!) are welcome, too!
I am hard at work planning Kai’s upcoming 2nd birthday. He is a Christmas baby so finding a way to make his day special without wrapping it up in a bow and tinsel every year will be a lifelong challenge I cherish. His theme is rainbow sprinkles inspired by this card from Paperless Post and this is the cake we are having made. Cute, right?!?
We have lots of house guests this week. My brother-in-law and his wife arrive from Malaysia tonight for three days and then on Friday one of skater hubs’ oldest friends comes to stay for the weekend. I am not normally the hostess with the mostest when it comes to house guests, have to admit, but ’tis the season, so we’re excited to roll out the foldout couch and welcome them all with open arms.
Leftover pie for breakfast. Enough said.
Have a good Monday ~
