My Beauty Must-Haves of the Moment

There is not a lot going well in the beauty department lately over here: my thick, wavy-but-not-curly hair has taken on a life of its own thanks to long days filled with sun, saltwater and top knots.

My regular regimen at The Dailey Method is helping in the toning department, but the harsh reality is that the diet department still needs to be whipped into gear in order to lose ten or so more unwanted pounds.

But I have to say, the skin gods have been on my side this summer. My complexion has been nearly flawless, glowing, healthy…and it feels so great, I thought I would share my current regimen:

For morning:

Philosophy Purity is my go-to mild, simple daily cleanser. I buy the biggest bottle of it that they make so I never run out.

I use my Clarisonic Mia daily. It’s so easy, there’s really no reason not to. It sits perched in my shower and makes it fun to focus on washing my face (properly) for a minute each day.

I was in New York on business a while back and ran out of moisturizer. I was about to head to Barney’s to pick up something exorbitantly expensive when my colleagues pointed me to Duane Reade with this Aveeno moisturizer pulled up on my iPhone. I haven’t looked back. It’s light, unscented, and really does give you a radiant glow. And it’s not exorbitantly expensive.

Sunscreen is a must in the SoCal sun but unless I am beach-bound, I don’t like to layer another cream on my face. This Peter Thomas Roth mineral powder SPF 30 brushes on lightly over your make up and gives you protection that doesn’t feel piled on.

 For night:

I stick with the Philosophy for nighttime cleansing as well, but then take it a step further with Kiehl’s calendula toner. It’s so calming and a really nice way to unwind my skin after a busy day.

I just started using an eye cream and love this hyaluronic one from Mario Badescu. What does hyaluronic mean? No idea. But this feels simple and light and moisturizing without being greasy.

This Kiehl’s midnight recovery concentrate is pretty much the reason why I started a nighttime skincare routine. It smells heavenly and truly feels like such a little luxury. Just two to three drops work wonders on your whole face, leaving it feeling renewed, restored and rosy.

And now I alternate it every other night with this new obsession from Mario Badescu. The vitamin C serum does not smell quite as heavenly as the Kiehl’s, but it truly improved my complexion after one use. And continues to do so after many more…

For when I feel like it…:

Kiehl’s rare earth masque. This is the only mask I am using right now, about once per week. The first time I used it, my skin actually had a slight reaction (which Kiehl’s kindly addressed promptly via Twitter, which I greatly appreciated) but it has been fine ever since and really works hard to remove impurities, minimize pores and clean out the gunk.

This Mario Badescu strawberry face scrub is amazing. It smells like you’re having a rich, thick strawberry milkshake, but its all natural seeds offer a very soothing, yet effective exfoliation. I love, love, love it. And it’s really affordable.

This Jurlique rosewater balancing spray has become a staple for me. I give my face a little mist whenever I am feeling a little sluggish, a little oily, a little dry…or just when I feel like indulging my skin. The light rosewater scent instantly transports you (goodbye screaming baby, nagging clients, dirty dishes) and refreshes your skin – and your mind – for what’s ahead.

So there you have it – my must-have beauty finds of the moment. If you try any of them, please let me know what you think!

Now if only one of them would erase these last 10 pounds…

*Disclosure – clearly I love Mario Badescu and Kiehl’s. Mario Badescu was kind enough to send me the products mentioned above, but all opinions are my own. All other products were my own personal purchases.

I use that aveeno moisturizer as well, I really like it. I’m looking for something to do at night that’s different than my morning routine I just might have to check out this midnight recovery by Kiehls!

Do it! It’s so great…seriously, even just the lavender essence alone makes it worth it, lulls you right to sleepytime. Let me know if you do!

I’ve recently came across the Mario Badescu line and I absolutely love it! I’m currently using the seaweed facial soap every morning and I’ve clearly seen a difference. Also purchased their whitening mask which helps with scaring, used 2-3x a week. Nordstrom was giving away the strawberry face scrub with a purchase of any two MB products and that is by far my favorite product! Just like you said strawberry milkshake for your face! You should def give the other two products a try 🙂
