Making My Monday

This weekend was all about family and home – lots of cooking, cleaning, memory-making…and chocolate chip cookie baking, of course (more on that later.)

It was lovely, but also made waking up to real-life this morning even tougher than usual. I just wanted to curl up in my house with my family and stay put all day.

But alas, here I am. Logged in, half awake, and looking at a busy week ahead with a slightly burnt out point of view.

Perfect time to focus on the positive instead, so here are the five things “Making My Monday”:

I went a little nutty at Le Creuset on Sunday (I went with orange; my mom bought me my first piece a while ago in that shade, so we’re sticking with it — classic Creuset) and my new additions are perched proudly on display on the kitchen counter…ready for me to dive into newfound recipes from this book, that I have quickly become obsessed with. A must-read for any mama, particularly us working types.

I have an afternoon and evening filled with meetings in LA today but am planning to squeeze in a polish change beforehand. This is my mani color of the week and this amazing top coat has actually let me enjoy my fresh polish longer than three days at a time.

I am taking Little D for dinner with a friend in the Little Italy section of San Diego this week. We’re excited to check it out for pasta and good wine, of course…but also for this dessert spot that I keep hearing about.

I have another “I Don’t Know How She Does It” feature scheduled for this week. I am having so much fun seeing how my fellow working mamas keep everything in check and it appears many of you are, too…thank you for reading and for commenting!

Last Friday evening we ventured to the beach for a picnic with some friends. Seven adults, six kids, a makeshift bonfire, s’mores aplenty for the kids, beers aplenty for the adults, and one of the most beautiful Southern California sunsets I have ever seen. It involved very little planning or stress and delivered some serious, carefree fun. So we’re aiming to do it again this week. It is the summer of summer after all, and I have a feeling it’s going to be September before we know it so we need to soak it all in while we can, don’t you think?

Have a great week!

What is it about the “Return to Reality” lately that’s been so difficult. I’m having the same trouble. Exact. Same. Trouble.

Love the OPI color! I’m a big proponent on doing my nails. Though having a ill one makes it difficult to keep my mani fresh. Hope out have a good week!

Oh, how I love my Le Creuset. I have the red mostly, but my dad got me a huge dutch oven in the egg plant color for Christmas. Heaven. And your weekend sounds divine. I miss west coast sunsets. We could do the sunrise over here, but you have to get up really, really early for that! Have a good week, dear! Blow San Diego a kiss for me.

Yay for le creuset! I have the orange as well – although I had to go with green last fall at a super sale since it was the only color left in the size dutch oven i had been lusting after for about 5 years. I finally splurged and we use it at least once a week now – sooooo perfect.

I love my Le Creuset. It was the best investment. Of course though, I want every color now! But, I’m happy with the one I have and use it lots! Teri
