In Bloom

I have a black thumb.

So while there may not be a whole lot of living plants in my home (we killed a cactus once…true story), there are always fresh flowers.

I am a May baby, born in the Spring, with a flower-obsessed mother who always had them on-hand to lighten up our house, even in the dead of a Canadian winter.

Now I am lucky enough to live in Southern California where there is always something in bloom.

I prefer to keep my arrangements simple and chic. One flower, one color. Preferably a plain glass vase though I have strayed into all-white and silver on occasion.

No filler. No baby’s breath. No “mixed bouquets.”

And while I adore some of these inspiring arrangements I have pulled above, the center bottom one defines me best.

Find some lovely flowers. Snip, as needed. Drop them into a vase.

Simple.

Chic.

After all, I wouldn’t want to threaten that thumb…
