Going Grey

I have been a little bored with my pale pink go-to manicure lately.

I love a dark vamp or deep red on my hands, but with kids, work and dishes, those rich shades just weren’t holding up.

And if there is one thing I hate, it’s an obviously chipped manicure.

So I have gone grey!

It started with essie’s Chinchilly, a mid-range dark grey with a beige/brown undertone.

Then I discovered Zoya’s Carey, a “periwinkle” grey with a purple-ish hue to it.

And just yesterday, I stumbled upon OPI’s My Pointe Exactly, which has turned out to be a nice, sheer pale grey with a slight icy blue hint to it.

Still nice and neutral, but playing far outside the pale pink sandbox.

I’ve never really been big into nail polish. At all. I’m not entirely sure the reason for this, but I suspect it’s somehow connected to my former dislike of bows and ruffles (I know!). And while I now love bows and ruffles and sparkles (all in healthy moderation, of course), I never got into nail polish. But I realized recently after several barre classes with lots of bare feet, that I better get into it. I’m seriously digging the grey. It seems much more like me than bright pink.

    I can’t wait to try it…
