A Perfectly Polished Potty

Yes mamas, a potty can be perfectly polished, even when it’s for the kids. Who am I to leave one of the most important rooms in the house neglected?

Here is how I turned the juniors’ bathroom into a whimsical yet well-appointed stop on the house tour.

Clockwise from top left:

Finding the right shower curtain from Dwell Studio helped anchor the room and give it a color scheme of pale blues and rich emerald greens. It also let my owls theme take flight.

Which brings me to these darling Ceramic Owls from West Elm that sit perched on the counter. We bought one big (Little D) and one small (Kai) to represent my two littles…but thankfully mine are not nocturnal.

I discovered this all-natural line of baby products years ago at Babies R Us and have been a devotee ever since. I love to bathe the kids in lavender bubbles to wind them down before bed and the bright green cap is the pop of color you never knew your bathroom needed.

Not only are these the chicest rubber duckies on the market, they are the safest as well. BPA free and fully enclosed so they don’t grow those nasty mold spots. Also helps that a four-pack comes with this mix of colors so boys and girls can happily share.

Pale blue towels hang from the rack to match the shower curtain but in reality, the kids hooded towels (not so chic) are hidden away in a convenient linen closet right there in the bathroom. You caught me.

These bright green accent pieces keep the theme consistent and cute at the same time.

Finally, another Boon find. This served as a drying rack for Kai’s baby bottles for many a month but now that he’s done with all that (sniff, sniff) it has quickly converted into a very cool toothbrush rack for Little D.

And that, my friends, is how you do potty chic.
