Nailed It

I think a good manicure and pedicure is the perfect accessory — for as little as $20 you can instantly add a whole new level of polish (pun intended) to any look.

And while I admire those gals who do neons, little flower designs, crackle and the like, I prefer to keep my polish picks classic and clean. I typically go light or dark and might play with an unexpected neutral such as “greige” once in a while when I am feeling crazy.

And I don’t do French. But I won’t bore you with the reasons why.

And I always buy a bottle of my favorites and bring it with me to the salon. For some strange, type A reason, it makes me feel better.

Here are my go-to hues:

Clockwise from top left: essie Chinchilly, essie Mademoiselle, butter london Teddy Girl, OPI Black Cherry Chutney, OPI Malaga Wine, essie Ballet Slippers, OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, essie Wicked.

Love this. All of it is true and I love the palette. Lincoln Park and Mademoiselle are my go-to’s for pedi/mani combos. I love to layer Jackie Oh My and Mademoiselle for a slightly more opaque result. Also I think that the slight shimmer in Jackie O has staying power – I could be crazy. Ballet Slippers is totally sentimental as I feel like my mother wore it most of my childhood.

I started doing the gels and my color palette shifted to more bright manicures because it was fun, but right now I’m typing with Mademoiselle and Jackie Oh My on and, well, classics are called so for a reason. 🙂

With you in the polish department, I’m not very adventurous. Lincoln Park is probably my all time fave and usually the only other color I wear would be a classic red, but don’t have a specific one I go to all the time.

Been wearing Ballet Slippers for 15 years, ever since I lived across the street from a nail salon in NYC.
