30 Days of Us

2012 January 3

Ok, ok I will move on from the holidays after this one last post (maybe…).

Here’s a glimpse at Christmas 2011 chez nous:

Must-buy new ornament of the season.

Adore the Starbucks holiday cups -- and the peppermint mochas that come in them.

Little D's first letter to Santa -- and he wrote back...!

The tree arrived. Kai had to make sure it was a good one.

It passed his test. And became one of my favorite trees of all time.

We hosted our first grown-up party in our new home. It was, ahem, a success.

Then we hosted another party, with kids this time, to celebrate Kai turning one.

We were so burnt out from hosting parties that Santa got Trader Joe's cookies. He didn't seem to mind.

He was kind enough to leave a couple thank yous for the cookies...a couple dozen, that is.

The day after Christmas, we headed for the hills. In style, of course.

Skater hubs was back in his element, high above the tree lines.

And I have to say, I wasn't too rusty myself...

Snow? Not a ton. People? Plenty of them.

Had her first ski lesson and it was a semi-success. The new goggles were her favorite part.

Little D's first game of Monopoly. I landed in jail and she said it was ok "because I had wine to drink in there." How do you argue with that logic?

The drive home through the California desert. Managed to not get a speeding ticket this time...

Counting down with New York City...I love a countdown on New Year's Eve.

Our New Year's Day brunch. May 2012 be as perfect as this view.

*All photos taken with, you guessed it, Instagram.

Where did you find that ornament- it looks just like my guy! Although he doesn’t regularly sports feathers.

I am 90% certain it was at Z Gallerie. We did a lot of shopping in a lot of stores, hence the 10% missing đŸ˜‰
