Maybe I Am A Little Nuts…

True story: today I jogged by a man on his cell by the beach and then saw another man a little further on and he was on his cell and I thought, for a split second, but a legitimate split second, that maybe they were in cahoots and were plotting to grab me and kidnap me and toss me into the trunk of the beat up grey Honda Civic I was just about to pass, in front of the 50 or so other people walking, running, pushing strollers all around me.

Yep, I seriously thought that.

Then I thought — maybe I AM a little nuts.

Then I came across this from A Cup of Jo.

And now, I am in the Grand Canyon.

No Honda Civics to be found.

I read that on a cup of joe also, it’s an interesting exercise in trying to not let little things make you worry!

Once when I was in Canada, J.D. and I were walking on a deserted beach and a car pulls up. We watch warily, city bred that we are. A man and two women get out and start walking toward us with a big bag. They’re waving to us and calling, “Hi, howdy!” I start to freak because they are obviously going to kill us. Who is that nice? The man gets nearer and nearer and the woman reaches in the bag…I’m almost crying, imagining the knife plunging into my chest…and she pulls out a tupperware of cherries and invites us to share their picnic lunch. I was SO relieved. (But I didn’t eat many cherries. In case they were poisoned.)

What I’m saying is, I am glad I am not alone.
